We are expanding our team and seek to immediately hire a full-time Production Assistant based at our distillery in Healdsburg, California. Distillery-specific training will be provided. Shifts will range from 6 to 10 hours per day; up to 40 hours per week. Most production work takes place on weekdays during primary business hours, but often early morning or late shifts will be needed during harvest. A flexible schedule to work early mornings or evenings, as well as availability on weekends, is an important attribute for the right candidate. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: · The Distillery Production Assistant for Alley 6 Craft Distillery is responsible for assisting in all phases of the distilling process including mashing, fermenting, distilling, barreling, and bottling. · This individual is a critical team member in the production of our spirits and will work closely with the distiller and co-founder to help achieve daily, monthly, and yearly production goals. Maintaining appropriate records of barrels and cases. · Sort fruit and botanicals for quality control. · Maintenance and cleaning of equipment. · The ideal candidate should have an aptitude to learn, develop, understand, and follow all safety and quality standards and standard operating procedures. · Maintain distillery & warehouse in an organized and clean manner · Shipping and Receiving of Raw Goods and Finished Products Physical Requirements: · Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time. · Ability to frequently climb stairs ascend/descend, stoop, kneel, crouch, bend, and balance. · Ability to lift 50 lbs.+ weight. Other Requirements: · College degree preferred, high school diploma or equivalent required · Must be 21 years of age or older · Must pass a background check · No present or past problems with drugs or alcohol. · Forklift experience a plus (training provided) · Willingness to work evenings and weekends, schedule flexibility. · Prefer 1 year of brewing, winemaking, and/or distilling experience OR restaurant/culinary experience. · Strong verbal communication skills oriented towards detailed team coordination · Basic understanding of chemistry, algebra, mechanical systems, and basic knowledge of the food and beverage culture and production. · We require a motivated individual who can think critically, multitask effectively, retain information, keep busy, and operate without constant supervision.
