WILMINGTON, MA — Judy O'Connell won the Wilmington Board of Selectmen special election Thursday, according to unofficial results from the town clerk's office.
The election saw O'Connell facing off against Mark Nelson. Both had run for office in Wilmington before, and O'Connell has previously sat on both the Board of Selectmen and the School Committee. Nelson has sat on the Master Plan Advisory Committee and the Transportation Sub-Committee.
O'Connell will fill the Board of Selectmen seat vacated when Jomarie O'Mahoney resigned in June due to a move out of town.
