Description
Benefit Dinner on behalf of Heidi Chobot Colorectal Cancer Stage 4 You are Invited to Participate in a Benefit Dinner on Behalf of Heidi Chobot Heidi is a German name that means nobility and just like her name. Heidi Chobot lived and continues to live her life with nobility, grace, and altruism. We consider knowing and being friends with Heidi Chobot, and her husband Chuck, a personal honor and a privilege. Our lives have been forever touched and enriched due to their friendship. Heidi has dedicated many years to working and volunteering in Pike County, PA. She selflessly has helped people in need and demonstrated to others how effortless it is to love and enjoy a blooming life. Unfortunately, even a spring in bloom will sometimes sit under a dark cloud. In 2014, Heidi was diagnosed with rectal cancer, went through aggressive radiation before having surgery, radiation treatment, and cleanup chemotherapy. During these tumultuous times, she continued to help other people, all the while holding down her job, until she was too sick to keep working. Despite this setback, she did not allow her medical situation to define her in a negative manner. Her view is still a positive force to all who know her. In 2020, Heidi celebrated being 5-year cancer free. In late 2020 and early 2021, her cancer had returned to stage 4 spreading to her liver. Heidi received chemotherapy and Immunotherapy treatments for six months and was not able to receive a dosage more than 80% due to side effect of the treatment. Heidi’s original team referred her to Memorial Sloan Kettering for alternative options, due to the results of her PT and MRI scans which showed that the cancer was still growing, reaching her pelvic floor bone and uterus. On August 18th, Heidi received a liver resection to remove her gallbladder, the tumors, and placement of a hepatic artery pump to provide chemo directly into her liver. The doctors were able to remove all 3 tumors, even the one that was doubtful to remove. Heidi still has a few more surgeries in the upcoming months and needs your support and prayers. Heidi’s upcoming expenses will include tolls, parking and travelling expenses in and out of New York City, and other at-home related expenses. Chuck will use FMLA leave time so that he can transport Heidi to her treatments, as well as take care of her while she recovers. We are respectfully asking that you please consider giving whatever you can to help Heidi continue her renewed care and fight for recovery. No amount is too little, and we are hopeful we can raise enough funds to sustain the Chobot family during their most difficult time. This will be an exceptionally long road for Heidi, and the hearts and prayers of the community are needed. Every dollar raised will tear down the financial obstacles ahead. The Chobot family of 5, with 2 grandchildren, needs our best hand forward. Most of all, they need our prayers and financial support to get through this challenging fight for Heidi’s life. Therefore, we urge you to join us in this noble cause and consider giving what you can to help defray the costs of Heidi’s treatment. Every dollar makes a difference, and every difference makes a change! Thank you for your consideration to this delicate matter. We look forward to helping Heidi bloom again! Love Heidi’s Team
