NEWTOWN, CT — More than 400 Eversource customers in Newtown were without power Thursday morning, after Wednesday's heavy rainstorm knocked down trees and flooded areas around Connecticut.
More than 14,000 were without power throughout the state, according to the utility company, due to the remnants of Hurricane Ida crashing through the region.
Newtown's 436 customers without power as of 10 a.m. represented 3.75 percent of Eversource's customers in town.
During the storm, the Newtown Hook & Ladder Company responded to three crashes, including a vehicle rollover, officials wrote on Facebook (see below).
