Updated 2:15 p.m. GREENWICH, CT — Eighteen roads remain fully closed after historic rains and high winds moved through the area in the overnight hours. According to the Greenwich Police Department, most of these roads are closed due to downed wires and trees. Eversource's outage map currently shows 588 customers in Greenwich who are without power. "We ask the public to remain off the roads for now due to downed trees and power lines. Crews are working to remedy road closures, but it will take some time," the town said in an update Thursday afternoon. Residents should also exercise caution when outdoors as downed power lines may remain energized and represent a significant hazard. Those using generators should ensure that they are positioned well away from living areas and exhaust is properly ventilated.
