Press release from Johnson City Parks & Recreation: September 1, 2021 Johnson City Parks and Recreation is now accepting proposed names for the splash pad at Carver Recreation Center, 322 W. Watauga Ave. Proposals must be made in writing and include an explanation of the name's significance to the property or overall park system. If the proposal includes an individual's name, a biography must be included. Proposals should be mailed to Johnson City Parks & Recreation Department, 4137 Bristol Highway, Johnson City, TN 37601 or emailed to [email protected]. Proposals must be received by Oct. 1. They will then be considered by the Parks and Recreation Advisory Board, which will make a recommendation to the Board of Commissioners for final approval.
