JERSEY CITY, NJ — Several parking regulations are suspended on Thursday as the city begins cleanup from the havoc Tropical Depression Ida left behind overnight.
The city tweeted that alternate side of the street permit parking / street cleaning, residential permit parking are all suspended Thursday. The mobile sweeper will be cleaning up storm debris and residents are urged to stay off the road.
There are close 100 cars abandoned in Jersey City's streets, Mayor Steven Fulop said.
According to the mayor's message, the broader region and Jersey City experienced anywhere between 8 and 10 inches of rain, overwhelming streets, homes and cars.
