SAN RAFAEL, CA — Smoke continues to billow from San Rafael's Lucas Valley neighborhood, but the 44-acre Lassen fire is 90 percent contained, according to the Marin County Fire Department.
Crews remained on the scene as of around noon on Thursday responding to a flareup and reports of smoke, the San Rafael Fire Department said.

County and CSD Open Space in the area are closed for recreational use. Lassen Drive at Idylberry Road, according to Cal Fire.
Evacuation orders were lifted by the early evening.
The case of the blaze remains under investigation.
