Here are the top stories today in Sacramento: You know Sacramento firefighters are out there every day in the Tahoe Basin helping to fight the Caldor Fire, but did you know they stay there, on the front lines, for two weeks at a time? They camp in yurts and trailers and eat dinners cooked over a camp fire as they reset to go back to the fight. Fire Captain Keith Wade explains the daily life of these firefighters, as well as discussing the work that they have done over the last 10 years with vegetation reduction in the Basin that helps with the current situation. (FOX40) A Sacramento restaurant worker was attacked by a customer who was disgruntled because the restaurant allegedly forgot to include an egg roll in his order. The man, identified by police as 42-year-old Anthony Brewer was arrested Monday for felony assault, according to the Sacramento Police Department, after the situation escalated and he allegedly threw the restaurant worker onto the street outside the restaurant. (ABC10) The Natomas Unified School District teacher who was caught on tape discussing an Antifa flag that he had displayed in his classroom is facing dismissal for his actions. The district said it is taking the legally required next steps to place the teacher on unpaid leave and remove him from the staff saying that the evidence gathered so far shows the "teacher violated the district's political action guidelines." (CBS Sacramento) 18 men, ranging in age from 19-57 have been arrested in a child sex predator sting in and around Sacramento. The men were booked on several felony charges relating to arranging to meet with a child for sex. According to the Sacramento County Sheriff's Office, the arrests happened between August 23-27 as a result of an undercover operation known as Operation Catch-A-Predator. Lonnie Wong is an institution in Sacramento television journalism, and he just announced his retirement. Lonnie started out as a reporter for the student-run radio station at UC Davis, KDVS. Eventually, he brought his talents to FOX 40 (TV-40 at the time) where he still is today. His career has spanned fifty years and eight governors (Jerry Brown Jr. twice) and he even covered the very first King's game at the old ARCO Arena. A lot of people will miss dinners with Lonnie.
