CONCORD, NH — A woman who was injured during a Pitbull concert on Sunday during an altercation is in the hospital with paralyzing injuries, according to a GoFundMe.com fundraising effort.
Madysen Audet of Keene, who graduated from Concord High School and has family in the region, was injured during the concert after a number of attendees were involved in a fight about a possible stolen drink. An altercation ensued and she accused a man of assaulting her. Another woman then also joined in the assault and Audet fell, losing consciousness.
According to a story in the New Hampshire Union Leader, Audet did not wake up until she was in an ambulance being assisted by EMTs.
The GoFundMe effort was started by her brother, Nicholas Ford.
"Maddy is now in the hospital without any feeling or movement below her waist," he said. "Our family would appreciate anything that could help as she has 4 dogs and her apartment to worry about."
Audet, Ford said, was being taken to Boston on Thursday for more tests.
As of Wednesday night, more than $6,100 had been raised with a goal of $10,000 set for the campaign in three days.
Gilford police are investigating the case and have a suspect identified.
After graduating from Concord High School, Audet attended Keene State College. She works as a vet tech at the Henniker Veterinary Hospital.
