Hi, I'm looking for a certain type of keyboard/piano instructor who can help guide me to start gigging and treating the piano as a 2nd instrument. What I'm looking for: I need an instructor who is not relying on method books as a guideline to teach and rather see where I'm at and take me where I need to go. My primary instrument is guitar which I take seriously and I would like to use the piano to give more depth to improvisations and song writing. I have a strong understanding of music theory and use that as my primary method of navigating the keyboard but could use some direction on proper playing styles, practice techniques, and left/right hand coordination. I don't read sheet music so concepts are key. First and foremost I am seeking someone versed in a variety of musical styles. Prefer someone who gigs from time to time and has an eclectic taste in music. Let me know if you fit the description and what pricing would be for hour lessons. In person only.
