Description

The Endocrine Division at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center (UPMC) is seeking women with low body weight who are not having regular menstrual periods. We are studying the use of a hormonal treatment for bone loss in women, ages 20 to 45, with anorexia nervosa. The study includes 6 visits to UPMC and 3 phone check-ins over the course of 18 months. Research study participants will receive: - bone density scans - nutritional analyses - hormonal evaluations There is no cost to participate in this study. Participants will receive up to $575 in compensation. Parking and/or transportation costs will be reimbursed for each visit to UPMC.
