Naval Engineering Support's goal is to provide support to mechanical engineering, NAVY & ship repair contractors, to accomplish the requirements to every contracts and availability. NES has a current job opening for Full-Time Electricians in the San Diego-National City, California Area. Specific Duties and Responsibilities include: - Installation, alteration, repair, troubleshooting, maintenance, testing, and operation of electrical equipment or systems, such as distribution panels, console wiring, instrumentation wiring, control switches/wiring, power supplies, and lighting. - Lay out work, determine material needs, select load/cable/conduit sizes, determine power sources, choose wire gauge, and determine type and size of panels. - Use electrical or electronic measuring instruments and devices, such as voltmeters, ammeters, ohmmeters, and Frequency Testing equipment. Minimum Qualifications: - Standard Computer Skills - DBIDS Credential (form can be provided to be filled out) - At least 5 years of experience in maintenance (in marine environment/water front preferred), and maintaining and coordinating jobs. - High school diploma or equivalent recommended - Must know how to safely and properly use hand and power tools needed for the job - Knowledge with standard items and checkpoints Environmental Factors / Physical Demands: - Applicant must be able to work in a variety of environments, conditions, and/or situations; such as small and confined spaces at heights of 20 feet or more. -Routinely bending, twisting, kneeling climbing and reaching for 1-12 hours per day.
