Job title: Nursery Supervisor Company Summary Contemporary Landscaping is a 17 acre nursery that specializes in growing 15, 25, and 95 gallon trees and palms. We grow our stock from seed, cutting, and air layer so we maintain plants at every stage. While most of our business is wholesale, we are open to retail as well. Hours of operation: M-F 7 am to 3:30 pm Location: Waimanalo Contact: Mark Fukui 343-4six24 Job overview: He or she will lead a small group of field workers through a weekly schedule. She or he will also be responsible for day to day operations as well as temporarily stand in for the manager if needed. Day to day activities include, propagation, plant maintenance, spraying, customer service and sales, operating heavy equipment, and repairing and maintaining irrigation systems. Core Responsibilities • Coordinating daily tasks according to the weekly schedule and making adjustments as necessary • Emphasizing safe use of tools and machinery • Interacting professionally with customers • Inventory and supply management • Recording time cards • Supervise crew of less than 6 people • Nursery work: pruning, fertilizing, spraying, propagation, etc. Qualifications and Skills: • Prior experience in agriculture or landscaping • Math skills for writing invoices, setting up irrigation, etc. • Communication skills for working with coworkers and customers • Proficient in emailing and texting Pay and Benefits • Hourly based on experience, overtime 1.5x time • Paid dental after 3 month probation • Paid company phone after 3 month probation • Five days paid vacation per year after 1 year • Paid federal holidays • Company T-shirts Requirements • Long pants • Steel toe shoes • Supply pruners and gloves • Ready to work at 7am • Able to lift 50 pounds
