Description
As the Food Safety Assistant, you will work in the packing plant and monitor our food safety practices, and communicate all food safety concerns to the Food Safety Manager. Our food safety practices consist of recordkeeping, hourly concentration checks of antimicrobial chemicals, stock checks and re-stocking items when needed. You will assist the Food Safety Manager with the day-to-day requirements of the Quality Department and audit preparation, as well as implementation of our HACCP and GMP practices.
List of Job Responsibilities:
1. Recordkeeping and filing of company files and logs. This is all done currently on paper.
2. Chemical Concentration Checks using an electronic meter for measuring.
3. Daily Product and Water Temperature Checks of radish, parsnip, turnip and beets.
4. Performing daily stock checks to ensure there are no gaps in production and then notifying the Plant manager where something is missing.
5. Maintaining proper soap and sanitizer levels throughout the production areas.
6. Assisting on the production line when needed.
7. Occasional refilling of chemical cleaning and sanitizing bins
