“Our immigration system is broken! How did we get here, and where exactly is here?”
Raluca Vais-Ottosen will discuss how the U.S. immigration system has been legislated over the years, and how the Trump administration implemented some of its policy changes. The presentation will also discuss the Biden’s administration efforts to reform the immigration system, most recently through the budget resolution that was passed by the House of Representatives on August 24, 2021.
Raluca practices primarily in U.S. immigration and nationality law. She has been at DeWitt Law Firm (formerly DeWitt, Ross and Stevens) since 2015. She assists clients with U.S. immigration matters ranging from family-based and individual immigration applications, to employment related visas. Originally from Romania, she utilized her personal experience as an immigrant to develop a special interest in U.S. Immigration Law.
