The Central Ohio Afro Fest will be a day of family fun in a space for all persons in our communities. This is an event that aims to give the neighborhoods a space to form new connections and nurture old ones with other members in the community. Event will be outdoors on the expansive outdoor venue at Phenix Banquet Center. Event will hold rain or shine. Safety is consistently a priority. Hand sanitizing station will be available. Phenix Banquet Center is humbled to share our expansive outdoor venue with the community. We are led by a Nigerian-American husband and wife team. The Center Stage: A platform for live performance and artistry that will uplift and entertain the audience. Creatives with African and Afro Centric talents get time at the mic to shine and present their art. The Children's Compound: An area designated for children and the child in all of us. Includes the playground and an area to explore the rich African culture through play and story-telling. The Market: A hub of sharing of crafts by local vendors. In the African culture, the market is the heart of community interactions. The market provides human connections in addition to art pieces, jewelry, African attire. The Food Village: A presentation of different and culture rich cuisine. Food vendors offering an array of varying menus. Breaking bread together as a community. LIVE PERFORMANCE TALENT "It takes a village" There are opportunities for talent to be showcased to the audience. Jump in and entertain the community. A fantastic way for established talent to expand their fan base and new talent to get stage time. Seeking fun and crowd-pleasing performances. Entire event is outdoors; so your performance must be able to be enjoyed in this setting.
