Description
Come step into our ABS2ASD invites you to the 7th Annual Awesomely Autistic Art Show🎨🧩💙💚❤💛 proudly Sponsored by The Newsome House Museum and Cultural Center. Since 2015 we have hosted this one of a kind show for the Autistic Community of Hampton Roads. This platform was created to highlight the amazing talent of Artists on the Autism Spectrum that have an ability to express their uniqueness in a way only few understand. This show highlights the creativity, talent, and meticulous detail from some HEAVENLY CREATED HUMAN BEINGS that see the WORLD on a whole other level!! Please come to a great annual family event with food, raffles, performances, games, and great Art for sale by our Awesomely Autistic Artists. Please take a moment to support and take a tour of the history of The Newsome House. I'm a mom of 4, a wife, and a Lioness Warrior when it comes to taking care of my children!! I created A Brighter Side To ASD, Inc, in 2015 from anger and fustration from the lack of services provided by the State and recreation programs supportive of my adult son's Autism. He had so much hidden talent and special abilities, I wanted to highlight his progress and accomplishments graduating from high school; but there was no where in this world for him!! I started with a monthly support group at the local library for parents that felt the same way I did..fired up and ready to go!! With an amazing team we created events that supported their skills and their abilities, events that helped parents feel like they are not alone on this journey called Autism! Our goal is to continue creating events that help build an awareness and understanding of Autism in our community, provide resources and personal support to our parents to help guide them on this unsure journey called Autism. We've host many events throughout the year from the Let's Talk Autism Seminar, Annual Family Beach Day, Monthly Support Group Meetings, Annual Holiday Party, various Inclusion events like the Annual Heartbeat Gala, exhibiting at community events that promote Autism Awareness, partnering with other organizations that sponsor recreation events, offering resources, solutions and a shoulder to cry on when needed, someone who actually listens as well as overstands the ups and downs of the disorder! Our goal is to continue SHOWING THEIR ABILITIES OUTWEIGH THEIR DISABILITY A BRIGHTER SIDE TO ASD, INC For more information contact: Kalishia Mitchell at 757-986-0834/email: [email protected]
