Christopher Morgan Loy and William Hurley perform live at the Conservatory
THE TRUMANSBURG CONSERVATORY OF FINE ARTS SEPTEMBER CLASSICAL CONCERT
On Saturday, September 18, 2021 at 7:30 P.M., the Trumansburg Conservatory of Fine Arts, presents an evening with Christopher Morgan Loy, composer / pianist featuring guest artist William Hurley, Violist. Loy and Hurley will be performing a program of classical works by Beethoven, Schumann, Mozart and others. This concert is also the premiere performance of Christopher Morgan Loy's recent composition Nine Preludes for Piano - Elaborated Haiku op. 66.
Christopher Morgan Loy is a composer / pianist who has served as Professor of Theory and Composition at Binghamton University from 2005 to 2013, organist/pianist at the First Baptist Church of Ithaca and is a former instructor for the Conservatory. His works have been performed and premiered in Cleveland, Detroit, Houston, New York, San Francisco, San Antonio, and Ithaca. Loy has earned a Master of Music in Composition degree from the Cleveland Institute of Music, and the Doctor of Musical Arts in composition from Cornell University.
He will be joined by William Hurley, an accomplished luthier / violinmaker, performer and teacher of violin on the faculty at The Community School of Music and Arts and a visiting lecturer at Cornell University.
