Program Details: <p style="text-align: Program Details: Advanced Statewide Truck Activity Data Through Existing Detector Infrastructure This presentation will highlight the newly developed Truck Activity Monitoring System (TAMS) which leverages existing in-pavement traffic sensors to provide truck activity data in California. This was accomplished by updating existing inductive loop detector sites with inductive signature technology, and implementing advanced truck classification machine learning models to provide detailed truck count data with over 40 different truck body configurations. This system has been deployed to over 90 detector locations throughout California to provide coverage at state borders, regional cordons and significant metropolitan truck corridors. Presented by: Dr. Andre Tok Manager and Associate Project Scientist UC Irvine, Institute of Transportation Studies ______________________________________________________________________________________ This month's lunch is graciously sponsored by: Member: $20 | Non-Member: $25 | Student: $10 Registration ends at 5 PM on 09/24/2019. Walk-in is limited and pending availability. Price at the door is $30. In 1959, a very small group of Traffic Engineers in Orange County started meeting during their noon hour once each month. It had become quite evident that a dire need existed within the county for a forum within which all persons engaged in the Traffic Engineering function might periodically gather, discuss individual or mutual problems, and arrive at solutions which reflect the combined talents of the professionals and the public. The organizers were soon joined by representatives of other firms or agencies who sought to either lend their talents or become recipients of professional assistance. The ORANGE COUNTY TRAFFIC ENGINEERING COUNCIL did indeed become the desired forum.
