Description
The Facilities Assistant will aid in all aspects of building operations related to space use and maintenance. This position reports to the Facilities Manager. The incumbent must be able to work on Saturday. This is a full-time flexible 40 hours/ week and is eligible for benefits. Primary Roles and Responsibilities: a) Responsible for room setup for classes, recitals and events. b) Custodial duties as directed by Facilities Manager. c) Responsible for routine maintenance activities, such as drywall repair and painting. d) Assist with the receiving and distribution of visual art supplies and all other materials. e) Conduct and maintain furniture and equipment inventory. f) Responsible for alerting Facilities Manager of any safety hazards that may occur. g) Perform additional tasks as requested by the manager. Experiences/Qualifications: a) High school graduate or equivalent b) Must have experience with building/facilities maintenance c) Knowledge of safety practices and procedures and proper lifting techniques. d) Good verbal and written communication skills along with strong interpersonal skills. e) Positive attitude with dependability and reliability. f) Ability to multitask, organize and prioritize g) Ability to read, write, understand and follow instructions in English. h) Willingness and ability to work a flexible duty schedule. Physical Requirements/Working Conditions a) Work indoors and outdoors. b) Must be able to stand/walk for 100% of the workday. c) Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. independently. d) Must be able to push and pull carts weighing up to 50 lbs. independently. e) Must be able to bend, stoop, reach and balance frequently throughout the workday.
