I DON'T KNOW WHAT THIS THING IS

So, um; This thing got into our house, presumably the other night? We really have no idea just exactly what it is, but it got in, and it won't go away. We're kind of scared of getting very close to it at all. It makes a horrible noise and is really quite threatening. It has some very strange behaviour. At night we can tell thru our bedroom door that it is running amuck all over the place, and it's been making some horrific messes. During the day, it climbs up the walls and just sort of hangs upside down from the exposed beams in the cathedral ceiling. It just hangs there, breathing, loudly at times. I think it has a contagious disease of some sort, because my husband has come down with some pretty serious skin thing, all scabby, and he's been loosing hair. It's pretty gross and I'm getting afraid to even just sleep in the same bed with him anymore. The poor kids have been having the worse nightmares, and I think this thing, or whatever it is, has been getting into their rooms when they are sleeping. We just don't know what in the hell this thing is, and we don't even know who to call. My husband has tried to kill it multiple times now, but it's just to quick, and it just sort of slips out of view any time he swing his baseball bat or a shovel at it. Really though, I think it just needs to go away, any way. Out of our way.
