The journey began when family and friends were introduced to his smoking skills during his daughters first birthday party. He has always enjoyed the art of smoking and decided to put his skills to the test during his daughter’s party. During this party, he smoked his first whole pig. Orders poured in following the birthday celebration. Bryan has since opened successful BBQ restaurants in Savannah and Atlanta, GA. Unfortunately, the renowned B’s Cracklin' BBQ in Atlanta, GA succumbed to a tragic fire in March of 2019. Nevertheless, Bryan continued to showcase his pitmaster skills all over the US and Europe. Bryan was a Chef in Residence for Stone Barn Center in New York, and a featured international pitmaster for Meatopia in the United Kingdom. Bryan will open his new location, Bryan Furman BBQ in the Riverside area of Atlanta, GA which is slated for opening in 2022. Bryan Furman BBQ will also be featured in the State Farm Arena, home of the Atlanta Hawks in September 2021. In the meantime, he will continue to collaborate with Pop-Ups throughout the country. Bryan Furman is well known for his award-winning standards in all categories of barbeque. His pitmaster standards are well above most. Bryan insists on using Heritage hogs for his meats. The Heritage hog is a perfectly marbled source of meat for smoking. He carefully selects woods for creating his signature smoke flavors. Along with his attentive selection of woods for smoking meats he also makes his own side dishes using locally sourced, fresh Georgia Grown produce with a blend of unique ingredients. Bryan Furman was named one ofcFood & Wine Magazine’s 2019 Best New Chefs (the first Pitmaster to ever receive the title), and also received 2019 and 2020 James Beard Foundation semi-finalist nomination for Best Chef Southeast.
