CLEARWATER, FL — The Clearwater Planning and Development Department is asking the public to submit their initial input on Clearwater's ongoing comprehensive plan visioning process, Clearwater 2045, by Wednesday, Sept. 8. A short survey — "Five Key Questions" — can be found here. The process of updating Clearwater's comprehensive plan, which is a policy document that local governments adopt to guide decisions on future growth and sustainability, is an exhaustive two-year process that will continue through 2022. There has already been a number of community engagement events from residents this summer during "Community Conversation" sessions, which more than 200 people attended online and in person at recreations centers and libraries throughout the city in May, June and July. The "Five Key Questions" survey has also been a very important tool for planners to assess major topics of interest from the public. "We have received a lot of great information about what the community values, where we can improve, and thoughts on the city's vision for 2045. There is still time to contribute by answering five quick questions. We want to hear from everyone in the city," said Assistant Planning and Development Director Lauren Matzke.
