GREENFIELD, WI — At Tuesday night's concert in Konkel Park, the Amp Haus marked off table 13 and set out 13 drinks, one for each of the 13 US service members who lost their lives in a bombing in Kabul, Afghanistan.
The beers were laid out at the Amp Haus during the Konkel Park concert. It's the latest local establishment to honor the soldiers killed in a blast on Aug. 26, with one restaurant in Florida doing the same.
None of the fallen service members were from Wisconsin, but the drinks were still laid out to honor Americans from California to Indiana to Wyoming. The 11 Marines, Navy sailor and Army soldier were killed in a suicide bombing at Kabul airport on Aug. 26.
The Tuesday night concert was headlined by the BriTins.
"Table 13 is closed in honor of our 13 fallen soldiers," a sign read on the table. "Honoring those who have made the ultimate sacrifice for our country," a Facebook post from the Greenfield Parks and Recreation Department said.
The death of the service members came in the final days of the US full millitary evacuation of Afghanistan, which has since concluded.
In remarks to the American public about the attackers, President Joe Biden said "we will hunt you down and make you pay."
