TRUMBULL, CT — First Selectman Vicki Tesoro announced Tuesday that Trumbull is requiring that both vaccinated and non-vaccinated people wear masks when entering government facilities, in an effort to help stop the spread of the coronavirus.
Last month, the town opted not to issue a mask mandate, but at the time, Tesoro left the door open for such a move in the future.
Masks are now required in the following Trumbull locations:
Town Hall Parks & Recreation Building (Tellalian Building) Trumbull Health Department Trumbull Senior Center Public Works Buildings Trumbull Emergency Medical ServicesTrumbull Police DepartmentTrumbull Library System, including the Main Library and the Fairchild Nichols Memorial Library Long Hill Administration Building (Board of Education Administration Building) Tashua Knolls Golf Course (Inside Only) Mary J. Sherlach Counseling Center Trumbull Nature and Arts CenterAdditionally, masks also are required to be worn "at all in-person or hybrid Town meetings by members of Boards and Commissions, town employees, and members of the public, vaccinated or unvaccinated," Tesoro said on Facebook (see below).
"I understand some people are frustrated with the changing mask guidance, but we must continue to work together to keep each other safe and with school starting today we want to make sure our children can have a normal school year," Tesoro said. "Even though I am not mandating indoor masks in other public places in Town at this time, the CDC and the CT Department of Public Health both recommend that everyone, vaccinated or unvaccinated, wear a mask in all public indoor spaces to reduce the spread of the Delta variant."
