PALACE THEATER RELEASES HEALTH & SAFETY POLICY WATERBURY – In accord with its sister theaters across Connecticut, The Palace Theater issues the following Policy Statement regarding its Health and Safety protocols. OFFICIAL HEALTH & SAFETY POLICY STATEMENTThe Palace Theater management considers the health and safety of our patrons, performers, backstage crews, volunteers, and staff to be its highest priority. As the response to COVID-19 and its variants continues to evolve, the Palace Theater is working with municipal and public health officials to assess COVID related protocols and ensure that the venue remains a safe environment for all.The following Health & Safety Policy is in effect as of September 1, 2021 until further notice: All attendees at Palace Theater events will be required to:Show proof of full COVID-19 vaccinationOrPresent proof of a negative COVID-19 PCR test taken within 72 hours.AndWear a face mask (properly worn), regardless of vaccination status, while inside the building, except while actively eating or drinking. Those who are medically exempted from mask-wearing must provide a note from their healthcare provider. What is considered "Fully Vaccinated?" Two doses of COVID-19 vaccine (i.e., Moderna or Pfizer): patrons must have received their second dose of the vaccine at least 14 days prior to attending a performance at the Palace Theater.Single dose of COVID-19 vaccine (i.e., Johnson & Johnson): patrons must have received their single dose of the vaccine at least 14 days prior to attending a performance at the Palace Theater. What forms of proof of vaccination are accepted? A physical card or a photo of a vaccination card that matches the patron's valid photo ID. What forms of proof of a negative test are accepted? A printed or digital test result that matches the patron's valid photo ID. What about children under 12? Children under 12 are required to show proof of a negative COVID-19 test and wear a mask. STATEMENT FROM BOARD CHAIR"As Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Palace Theater and a physician member of the Mayor's Task Force on COVID-19, I speak for the whole Board when I say that the health and safety of everyone involved with the Palace is our highest priority. The COVID health and safety policy was written after a number of hours of discussion on what would be best for the patrons and staff. In these very difficult times, we ask that you work with us to ensure that the theater remains open and a vibrant place in the City of Waterbury. As we move forward in the coming months, the policy will be continually looked at and adjusted with safety and health as our number one priority."Peter J.
