Description
HOWARD COUNTY, MD — Earlier Wednesday, Furnace Avenue at the Anne Arundel County/Howard County was closed due to areal flooding on both sides, then reopened later that day.
The Howard County Police Department advises drivers that if they approach a flooded roadway, "turn around, don't drown." It takes just 6 inches of fast-moving floodwater to knock over an adult, 12 inches of rushing water to carry away a small car and two feet of rushing water to wash away most vehicles, the department noted.
