Description
THE WOODLANDS, TX — Fans of Maroon 5 planning on attending the hit band's September show at Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion will need one of two things — a negative COVID-19 test or proof of full vaccination.
The Pavilion announced on its website that, in accordance with the band's request, attendees of the Sept. 28 concert will need documentation of a negative COVID-19 PCR/Antigen test result that occurred no earlier than two days before the event, in this case Sept. 26. People who are fully vaccinated may show proof of vaccination instead of a negative test. Children under age 12, who are not eligible to receive a COVID-19 vaccination, must submit a negative test result.
Because it takes two weeks to be fully vaccinated after the second shot of the Pfizer-BioNTech and Moderna vaccines or first shot of the Johnson & Johnson vaccine, the date of the last shot received must be Sept. 14 or earlier to get into the show without a negative test result.
The policy also will be in effect for the Jonas Brothers show at The Pavilion on Oct. 23.
The requirement for the Maroon 5 and Jonas Brothers concerts is a departure from the venue's usual COVID-19 policy.
"Please note that vaccination is not required to attend an event at The Pavilion," the venue said in a statement on its website.
Tickets for both the Maroon 5 and Jonas Brothers shows are on sale now. For mobile updates on the Maroon 5 concert, text MaroonFive20 to (877) 350-1693.
