BOULDER COUNTY, CO — Over the past week, 352 new cases of the coronavirus have been reported in Boulder County, according to the latest public health data. More than 237,000 Boulder County residents — or 82 percent of the eligible population — have received at least one dose of their vaccine, according to Boulder County Public Health. Around 221,000 residents — 76 percent of the county — are fully inoculated. As of Monday, 26,329 people in the county had tested positive for the virus since the outbreak began. The death toll has reached 265 after one death was reported over the past week. Nearly all new cases in Colorado are the Delta variant, state public health officials said. Around 899 people have been hospitalized in Boulder County since the outbreak began, and five new hospitalizations were reported over the past week. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention's Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices recommends people whose immune systems are moderately to severely compromised receive an additional dose of the COVID-19 vaccine at least 28 days after their second dose. Colorado has reached a milestone in its battle against the coronavirus — 75 percent of people ages 18 and older in the state have received at least one dose of their vaccine, public health officials announced Tuesday.
