TEMECULA, CA — Temecula residents interested in serving the community have an opportunity to apply for eight open slots on commissions and a review board. The city invites residents to apply for the following positions: Old Town Local Review Board – 3 Positions The Old Town Local Review Board has the responsibility of serving as an advisory resource to all agencies of the city in matters pertaining to the historic significance and related architectural themes of the historic Old Town district. The board is also charged with encouraging public understanding and appreciation of the unique architectural, environmental, and cultural heritage of the district through educational and interpretive programs, according to the city. The board meets on the second Monday of each month at 9 a.m. in the Great Oak Conference Room, 41000 Main Street. Community Services Commission – 2 Positions The commission reviews and makes recommendations on topics related to the Parks and Recreation Element of the General Plan and works to provide parks and recreation services and programs for the community, according to the city. The commission meets the second Monday of each month at 6 p.m. in the Council Chambers, 41000 Main Street. Public Traffic/Safety Commission – 1 Position The commission reviews and makes recommendations on topics related to speed zones, stop signs, signals, pavement markings, traffic design and engineering, according to the city. The commission meets the fourth Thursday of each month at 6 p.m. in the Council Chambers, 41000 Main Street. Race, Equity, Diversity and Inclusion Commission – 2 Positions The commission reviews and make recommendations on topics of diversity and inclusion within city events, services, programs, policies and enhanced community relations, according to the city. The commission meets the second Thursday of each month at 6 p.m. in the Council Chambers, 41000 Main Street. The Temecula City Council will make appointments to these positions at a public meeting in November 2021, city officials said. The term of each position will be January 1, 2022, through December 31, 2024. The recruitment period for these positions is September 1, 2021, through October 31, 2021. Applicants may apply online through the city's website at TemeculaCA.gov and here. Supportingdocuments, if any, must be submitted together with the application.
