By John Gibson, WNIN Sept. 1, 2021 The Indiana Department of Health raised Vanderburgh's pandemic death toll by two to 419. The agency also added single fatalities in Posey and Gibson counties. New infections continued to climb, with 112 more in Vanderburgh, 55 in Warrick, 24 in Gibson, and 17 in Posey County. Nearly 200 more Vanderburgh County residents were listed as fully vaccinated on the Tuesday dashboard. Vanderburgh's seven-day positivity rate among individuals slipped a bit to 26.5 percent. The number of hospitalized COVID patients in the 12-county region of southwest Indiana rose to 271. Statewide, COVID-related deaths jumped by 69, with about 3,700 new infections. In western Kentucky, the Green River District Health Department recorded four new fatalities in Daviess County, one in Henderson County, one in Union County, and one in McLean County.
