Here are the top stories today in Sacramento: An Inderkum High School teacher is under investigation as a video allegedly shows him claiming that he keeps an Antifa flag in his classroom that is "meant to make fascists feel uncomfortable." Natomas School District parents said they're disturbed by extreme political beliefs being taught at a public school. A spokesperson for Natomas unified school district said officials are aware of the video, but did not mention the employment status of the teacher. (CBS Sacramento) When the flow of our lakes, streams and rivers begin to slow and the temperature of the water rises, it creates the perfect condition for dangerous algae blooms. Blooms are most common in late summer and early fall. The County of Sacramento reminds you that, people, pets and livestock should keep out of rivers, lakes, ponds and any bodies of water that have scum layers, large mats or other visible blooms of blue-green algae. (Saccounty.net) The Sacramento Metropolitan Fire District responded to a vegetation fire that broke out in Rancho Cordova Tuesday near Kiefer Boulevard and Rancho Cordova Parkway. The cause of the fire is unknown. (FOX40)San Juan Unified school officials confirm that there are 27 SJUSD students from 19 families that are still in Afghanistan. Officials noted, however, that some of them could be in transit out of the country. In a statement, the district said it is working closely with state officials and have contacted the offices of several congress members for help and coordination. (CBS Sacramento)The City of Sacramento is looking for non-profits to apply for a grant from the Ann Land and Bertha Henschel Memorial Fund. There is $150,000 available for nonprofits that care for destitute men, women and children of the City of Sacramento. The deadline to apply for the grant is 4 p.m. September 30. Thursday's events in Sacramento The Ray Charles Project will be at the Sofia with its take on some of Charles' greatest tunes. (7 pm)Come out for Drag Queen Bingo at Mango's on K Street. Presented by the Sacramento Rainbow Chamber of Commerce and hosted by DoMe Moore, this event will raise money for local nonprofits. (7 pm)The Country Music Kickoff concert will be streamed live to the West Wind Drive-in. Join Toby Keith and Alabama for the biggest Country Party of the weekend from the comfort of your own car. (8 pm)The Comedy Spot presents Trash Movie Improv, a show in which a clip from a bad movie is played. After a few minutes the clip is stopped and a team of improvisers must create new scenes based on the trash movie clip on the spot! (8 pm)Head on over to Sac State for a special outdoor screening of Godzilla vs. Kong. This FREE event will be outdoors at the University Union's Serna Plaza.
