WEST CHESTER, PA — A single shove among a group of young people exiting a gas station shop at 2 a.m. in West Chester became a chain reaction shoving and hitting match on the sidewalk that left two injured, one with a broken jaw, a police report said.
Early Saturday morning, West Chester Borough Police officers responded to the large fight at the 7-Eleven store in the 200 block of S. High Street, West Chester.
Police reported that during the incident, one person was injured with a broken jaw that needed surgery and a second person needed several stitches for a laceration to the face.
The recorded incident shows many young people coming out of the store, and one person in the crowd pushing another, which set off an unruly pushing match, with at least two people on the ground being punched by others.
In the video posted by police, one man who appeared to be trying to stop the fight was shoved, then hit, by a woman several times, as she punched and pushed him against the brick wall of the store. Then a larger man came up, grabbed him around the neck and slammed him to the sidewalk, punching his head. The larger man then turned to the corner where the original person who threw a punch was being surrounded and hit by a crowd.
West Chester Police are asking anyone who witnessed the incident or who may have information to contacPolice Det. Cpl. Harry O'Neill at 610-457-5874 or at [email protected]
