PHILADELPHIA — More than 20 SEPTA bus routes have been delayed Tuesday due to a driver shortage. SEPTA said Tuesday morning that 23 routes were operating with delays. Affected route are 14, 20, 24, 25, 28, 29, 33, 4, 47, 49, 5, 56, 57, 58, 60, 64, 66, 67, 7, 70, 9, G and K. SEPTA said on Twitter that an operator shortage led to delays. A SEPTA spokesperson said the shortage stemmed from employees calling out sick, according to NBC10. The Negotiators for Transport Workers Union Local 234 and SEPTA Tuesday were entering contract discussion. The union represents more than 5,000 workers in the Philadelphia area, including workers at SEPTA and Upper Darby Municipal workers.
