Press release from Downers Grove Grade School District 58: August 31, 2021 Dear District 58 Families, District 58 was informed today that a work stoppage at a large area food supplier will significantly limit our food supply and require a change to our menus for this week and potentially into next week as well. District 58 will still be able to provide food for students this week, but the meals will look different from the menus that were previously posted on our Food Services webpage. Please view the updated menus below for this week's remaining meals. We will send a communication on Friday regarding meals for next week. Elementary Breakfasts Breakfast bags will be provided to only elementary students who selected the "Breakfast Only" option. Breakfasts will not be provided to elementary students who requested both breakfast and lunch this week; the goal is to reinstate all breakfast bags next week.  Elementary School Lunch Menu  Wednesday - Muffin/Cheese Stick/Yogurt Lunch pack, with Fruits, Vegetables and Milk Thursday - Deli Sandwich with Fruits, Vegetables and Milk Friday - Uncrustable/Cheese Stick Lunch pack with Fruits, Vegetables and Milk Middle School Meals Middle school students will continue to have the option to select a breakfast bag during lunch. Middle school students will continue to have the option to select a choice between a hot entree or salad daily. O'Neill Middle School Lunch Menu  Wednesday - Chicken Nuggets or Nacho Salad; with Fruits, Vegetables and Milk Thursday - Max Sticks or Nacho Salad; with Fruits, Vegetables and Milk Friday - Homemade Pizza or Nacho Salad; with Fruits, Vegetables and Milk Herrick Middle School Lunch Menu  Wednesday - Max Sticks or Nacho Salad; with Fruits, Vegetables and Milk Thursday - Breakfast at Lunch (variety of pancakes, waffles, donut holes will be offered) with Fruits, Vegetables and Milk Friday - Pull Apart Cheesy Breads, Max Sticks or Nacho Salad; with Fruits, Vegetables and Milk Even if you are signed up for free meals, you may choose to send your child to school with an alternative lunch.
