LAPD Officer Injured In Crash On Foothill Freeway

GLENDORA, CA — A motorcycle officer with the Los Angeles Police Department was injured Wednesday morning in a collision with two trucks on the Foothill Freeway in Glendora. The unidentified male officer was taken to a nearby hospital to treat a suspected broken leg, the LAPD said. The two truck drivers, who were not identified, were not injured in the collision, according to the California Highway Patrol. The two truck drivers were not arrested, the highway patrol said. Two lanes of the westbound portion of the freeway were closed for an hour as investigators went over the scene, according to the CHP. The officer was on his way to work and riding his department-issued motorcycle when the collision occurred around 5:20 a.m. near the Barranca Avenue off-ramp, according to the California Highway Patrol. The two truck drivers remained at the scene, the CHP said. The cause of the collision is still under investigation, and anyone with information is encouraged to contact the CHP's Baldwin Park Area office at 626-338-1164.
