EAGAN, MN — Eagan resident Mallory Weggemann won a second gold medal Monday night in the 2020 Tokyo Paralympics. Weggemann came in first place in the 100m backstroke S7 with a new Paralympic record of 1:21.27. She also won a gold medal in the women's 200 individual medley S7 with a time of 2:55.48-just short of the Paralympic record for that event which she set the same day. Team USA also got bronze in the 100m backstroke, finishing just behind Canada's Danielle Dorris. "It's remarkable to share the podium with a fellow Team USA teammate and see two flags go up," Weggemann told Team USA. "Two podiums, two golds. I couldn't think of anything better right now."
