Cook County Veterans And Military Can Get A Free White Sox Ticket

CHICAGO — Veterans and active-duty military members can receive one free ticket to a regular season White Sox game thanks to a program initiated by Cook County Clerk Karen Yarbrough. The free tickets are available for White Sox games on Sept. 1, 14, 15, 16 and 28 as the South Side team cruises to the playoffs. The Clerk's Veterans Discount Program is a public-private partnership that offers discounts and reduced costs on a wide range of services to veterans and military service members. "We are so proud to partner with the Chicago White Sox to provide this wonderful benefit to our deserving veterans and members of the military," Yarbrough said in a news release. "The White Sox have had such a special season and as they head toward the playoffs, we thank them for their unconditional support for our veterans and members of the military every step of the way." All Cook County Veterans, active-duty personnel, national guard and reservists and other members of the military can apply for the free Military and Veterans Discount Program, a public-private partnership that offers reduced costs and benefits to veterans. Veterans who already have the discount card can present it on the game day of their choice at the Box Office windows at Gate 4 at Guaranteed Rate Field within two hours of game time to receive their complimentary ticket. Applications for the discount program can be completed at the Clerk's Veterans Affairs Office, located in the Cook County Building, 118 N. Clark in Chicago. The office is open Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. When applying, veterans should bring their DD-214, Retired Military Card or Illinois Driver's License or State ID with Veterans Designation. The Clerk's Discount Card, which is offered in partnership with the Cook County Office of Veteran's Affairs, provides veterans with discounts on a wide range of services including food, auto repair, legal services as well as health and fitness memberships. Veterans and active military can also submit an online application for the program on the Cook County Clerk's website.
