CHARLOTTE, NC — Pet ownership has soared during the pandemic, but as workers start to return to offices, that newfound companionship is adding layers of responsibilities during the work day.
Almost half of pet owners are anxious about leaving their pets at home when they go back to work, according to a recent survey conducted by Rover.com.
A new professional pet sitting and walking service in South Charlotte has recently launched to provide a resource for pet owners who need a helping hand during the day. The South Charlotte franchise of Fetch! Pet Care, which was launched recently by Ballantyne resident Carolina Gandrud, offers professional dog walking and in-home pet sitting services to residents in Charlotte, Matthews, Weddington, Indian Trail and Waxhaw.
The company also serve neighborhoods such as South End, South Park, Ballantyne, Cotswold, Olde Providence and others.
"Growing up in South America, our extended family always had pets, some as exotic as parrots and small monkeys," Gandrud said in a statement. "When I learned about the opportunity to launch Fetch! Pet Care in my community, I knew it was the right fit. The business allows me to combine my extensive business experience with my interest in both people and pets."
Gandrud says she hand-picks and trains each member of her team, and that all pet care providers are bonded, insured, background-checked and have specialized skills in caring for dogs, cats, birds and other small caged animals.
The company also utilizes a mobile app for scheduling and communicating with team members, and includes GPS tracking to enable clients to locate their animal during a walk.
