Description

Press release from the City of Scottsdale: August 31, 2021 View Highlights View Report   This audit, conducted to review performance measures and cost-effectiveness of economic development programs, found that the department spent 22% of its small business assistance pandemic relief funds, including $625,000 in pandemic-related reimbursement grants and $74,000 for a small business training program. The business support programs were not continued with the remaining funds to assist additional businesses. As well, department efforts to contact Scottsdale businesses during the pandemic were hindered by its incomplete customer relationship management (CRM) database. Further, business attraction and retention activities can be more effectively evaluated, and performance measures and metrics could be better used to evaluate outcomes. The department agreed with the recommendations and plans to implement changes by June 30, 2022.   This press release was produced by the City of Scottsdale.
