2 Electrical Workers Killed While On Duty In Jefferson County

JEFFERSON COUNTY, AL — Two men working on electrical restoration efforts in Jefferson County Tuesday died in an accident on site in the Adger community. The accident occurred just before noon. The two men — identified as Eli Babb,19, of Kellyton and Layton Ellison, 19, of Alexandria — reportedly came into contact with electrical currents while working and were killed. They were employed by Pike Electric and had been contracted for the work by Alabama Power. "We have been made aware of a tragic accident involving Pike Electric employees supporting Alabama Power in storm restoration," Alabama Power said in a statement. "Our thoughts and prayers are with the Pike Electric family during this difficult time."
