Custodian I Park University Under general supervision, be responsible for the custodial functions of an area or areas of Park University; participate in keeping the assigned areas and facilities clean, orderly, and safe; and do other related work as may be required. Position Accountabilities: Ability to do all work safely, and perform work in such a way that the area being cleaned is safe for others in the area. Ensuring safety, building cleanliness, environmental protection, and stewardship of Park University assets. Foster teamwork, collaboration and cooperation across all departmental boundaries. Continually assess the needs of our customers and their work space. Be courteous, conscientious, and respectful in dealings with others. Maintain assigned equipment for cleanliness and report all repairs needed Dust, clean, vacuum and replenish supplies. Position Requirements: High School graduate or equivalent is preferred. Previous custodial experience preferred. Knowledge of methods of cleaning materials, equipment, and supplies used in custodial and cleaning work. Ability to estimate quantity and types of materials and supplies needed. Ability to maintain simple records and prepare routine reports. Ability to understand and carry out oral and written records in English. Ability to maintain cooperative relations with those contacted in the course of work. Ability to perform work in a safe manner. Physical Requirements Knowledge of routine hand and power tools Ability to lift up to 60 pounds. Ability to bend, stoop, and reach, and perform repetitive movements, such as vacuuming or mopping. Ability to use a ladder.
