Facilities Manager/Custodian of School 30 hours per week; preferably 7:30 am - 1:30 pm daily Oversees building and grounds maintenance. Operates and maintains custodial functions. Ensures that all buildings are clean and properly maintained. When necessary, coordinates and oversees outside vendors for regular and emergency repairs (Heating/Air, Snow Removal, Landscaping, Plumbing) Mechanical and carpentry skills preferred. A willingness to pitch-in as needed. Vaccinated for COVID-19. Background check required. Interacts professionally with all CDS teachers, staff, and children. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Daily set up of facilities and grounds to ensure they are operational and safe Assist other faculty to ensure an efficient and effective work environment Perform maintenance and repairs (e.g., change light bulbs, replace washers, oil doors, etc.) to ensure safe and efficient use of facilities Respond to immediate safety and/or operational concerns (e.g., facility damage, unauthorized persons, alarms, spills, etc.) to take appropriate action to resolve immediate safety issues and maintain a functioning educational environment Deliver a variety of items (e.g., supplies, packages, furniture, etc.) to distribute materials to the appropriate classroom Maintain supplies and equipment (e.g., cleaning solutions, paper products, vacuum, mops, etc.) to ensure the availability of items required to properly maintain facilities Repair furniture and equipment as may be required (e.g., faucets, toilets, replace lights, etc.) to ensure that items are available and in safe working condition Secure facilities and grounds (e.g., lock doors, turn off lights, close gates, etc.) to minimize property damage, equipment loss and injury. Faculty is vaccinated; Masks are worn inside and outside.
