Our Need? We are looking for a laboratory scientist to sustain our seed technology efforts. The successful candidate will help our botanist design and set up multi-state and country field trails. They will oversee our seed cleaning, curation, and order fulfillment process. They will help build and implement our SOPs for collecting key milling and processing data. The candidate will continue to build our relationship with the Idaho State Department of Agriculture and APHIS to execute all field and laboratory inspections to ensure the proper certifications and phytosanitary documents are acquired to fulfill our orders. Desired Skills? Proficiency with seed cleaning equipment including threshers, dehullers, aspirators, and size grading tables (e.g. dockage testers) Familiarity with seed pelletizing equipment for coating seed lots Understanding or ability to learn experimental design principals for field trials Understanding of computation systems and analyses associated field and milling trials Ability to work with Data Scientist and Botanist to achieve corporate goals Ability to troubleshoot and problem solve Desire to learn new things and disrupt current fields of thought through good scientific methodologies. Experience? 3+ years of practical experience in seed technology, milling or a related field. A bachelor’s degree in agronomy or a related field. Previous commercial laboratory experience would be encouraged.
