Feeder/ Folder Job Summary: The Feeder/Folder continuously grasps, sorts and grades clean textiles and then either folds by hand or feeds into an ironer or folding machine for final finishing. Essential Functions: • Grasp textiles from a cart/bin then sort, inspect and grade according to quality standards. • Fold, assemble and package by hand different types and sizes of textiles. • Feed different types and sizes of textiles into ironers or folding machines Typical Physical Activity: • Physical Demands consist of standing, walking, reaching overhead, pushing, pulling, grasping, lifting up to 25 lbs. and stooping. Typical Environmental Conditions: • Production areas of a typical industrial laundry facility, which includes variations in temperature, odors, humidity, lint and dust. Utility Worker Job Summary: The Utility Laundry Worker performs tasks as needed in the production areas of a laundry facility. Not always assigned to one particular job, he or she is directed to perform a variety of such tasks as loading and unloading laundry from carts, slings and equipment, rolling carpets, Loading dock duties, supporting production department as a relief worker for vacations, absences or other reasons, loading and unloading large industrial wash machines, extractors, dryers and trucks, counting or sorting linen, feeding or folding, transferring linens to different areas and performing other assigned duties. Essential Functions: • Load, unload, move and/or transfer carts, slings and bags of textiles or bulk textiles. • Count, sort and handle soiled or processed product. • Roll, wrap, tie or package product. • Feed, fold or grade textiles. • Work in and provide relief and support to production areas for vacations, absences or other reasons. • Operate laundry equipment as directed. • Continuously meet efficiency and safety standards. • Perform other tasks as required. Additional Functions: • Perform various production tasks as needed. Qualifications: • Recognize colors and sizes, count and sort accurately. • Recognize, inspect and grade product. • Comprehend and follow written packing instructions. • Comprehend and follow direction by supervision.
