Bartlett Cocke Industrial is currently looking for a]Heavy Equipment Operator to join our team! The Heavy Equipment Operator will be involved in operating a variety of heavy equipment, including front loaders, mini excavators, bulldozer, forklift, and trackhoes. This role will be responsible for inspecting trucks before and after use, loading and unloading cargo, confident competent in excavation, and be able to move large pallets of inventory from one area to another. When necessary, the Heavy Equipment Operator will also perform routine maintenance on the machines or recommend they be sent out for repairs. All Equipment Operators must follow company and governmental safety guidelines at all times. Candidates should have experience with the following equipment: • Front Loaders • Mini Excavators • Bulldozers • Forklifts (10k Skytrack) • Trackhoes • Backhoes Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities: • Inspect large equipment before and after use to ensure they are working properly. • Maintain a daily equipment usage log. • Must be competent in excavating in congested areas and/or environments with unknown underground obstacles. • Willing to perform non-equipment related work. • Load and unload cargo and move them to the appropriate storage or staging area(s). • Follow all safety procedures, especially while operating equipment. • Perform regular maintenance and minor repairs, when necessary. • Report needs for larger repairs to the appropriate parties. Minimum Qualifications: • HS Diploma or equivalent required. • Three (3)+ years of experience working with heavy equipment required. • Experience operating equipment in the heavy industrial market, specifically working inside the fence at plants and refineries. • Forklift certification required. • Possession of a Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) or a willingness to obtain the license. • Must be willing to occasionally travel within a 100-mile radius of the greater Houston area, including but not limited to the Beaumont and/or Sweeny areas. • Knowledge of proper operation of heavy equipment as well as safety standards. • Excellent safety record required. • Strong work ethic and physical ability to lift 50+ pounds. Preferred Requirements: • Certifications for equipment listed above. • Confined Space certification. • Competent Person for Excavation Trenching and Shoring. • Able to read and write English. • OSHA 30 • NCEER Certificate for Heavy Equipment.
