THE ROLE This role is essential in maximizing operational reliability through the effective maintenance and repair of equipment and related components at the highest level of quality. All work must be completed in a safe, professional, and timely manner. This individual must be able balance performing their work as efficiently and as possible, while maintaining a high attention to detail. Extended hours and weekends will be required during peak seasons. RESPONSIBILITIES: 1. Perform all maintenance on production equipment, including both preventive and remedial maintenance, to minimize downtime and optimize equipment performance. 2. Establish and manage a spare parts inventory to promote a minimal downtime atmosphere to utilize labor hours as efficiently as possible. 3. Document and record all maintenance tasks to track equipment failure patterns and repair costs. 4. Utilize software systems to properly create PO’s for the procurement of parts using GL coding guidelines. 5. Develop, implement, and maintain a preventative maintenance program for all process equipment. 6. Maintain site and facilities for safe operation and an always ‘tour ready’ state of cleanliness. 7. Work with support teams to enable facility equipment to support maximum output and minimize waste/shrink. Process Safety Management Program 1. Complete daily/weekly inspection rounds and record all findings according to PSM program standards. 2. Operate ammonia refrigeration system to ensure seed is properly stored according to quality standards. 3. Perform regular refrigeration system walk-throughs and record per PSM guidelines during operation hours to provide a safe work environment for all employees. 4. Record all deficiencies/ repairs in the PSM log and communicate with refrigeration contractors when certified repairs are needed. 5. Ensure all preventative maintenance and inspections are performed and properly documented. These include daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual inspections or preventative maintenance measures. Safety 1. Ensure safety compliance through proper adherence to safety training. 2. Perform and record safety inspections for fire extinguishers, eye wash stations, AED, and all other life saving devices. 3. Complete fire pump tests and record on a weekly basis. 4. Comply with all USDA, DOT, OSHA, etc. reporting regulations by working with the proper agency to ensure the operation is always in compliance with local, state and federal regulations. Provide reports to the appropriate personnel as needed. 5. Serve as the PSM program lead. Ideal Candidate Qualifications: Equipment repair and preventative maintenance Basic computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office applications Inventory control Safety program experience Welding experience Electrical experience Ammonia refrigeration experience High School Diploma or GED Still not convinced?
