Are you looking for an opportunity in aircraft maintenance? Hillsboro Aero Academy is seeking to fill a Shop Assistant/Apprentice Aircraft Mechanic position for our Hillsboro campus. This position provides the candidate the opportunity to obtain hands on experience maintaining our large fleet of aircraft in a supervised environment. The starting wage is $16/hr. After six months the candidate will receive a performance review, and pay increased accordingly. After successfully obtaining 18 months of experience the apprentice will be eligible to obtain either airframe or power plant FAA certification. 12 months thereafter, the apprentice can obtain the other certification. Starting wage for an A&P mechanic with two years’ experience is $23/hr. Full time work year around and overtime available when company needs arise. Requirements/Preferences: - Strong mechanical abilities/aptitude - Ability to read and comprehend maintenance manual data - Strong work ethic and drive - Ability to work overtime if needed - A rolling toolbox and standard tools - Ability to shift focus and tasks quickly based on priorities - A strong desire to become a professional aircraft maintenance technician.
