Video game covers?

Just putting some feelers out there, no full commitments yet. Do you game a lot, play an instrument, and find yourself listening to the soundtracks of video games for enjoyment even when you aren't playing them? Cool! Me too. I was thinking it might be cool to get together with other like-minded people to try recreating songs from video games we enjoy. I'm a guitarist, bassist, and mediocre keyboard player, but I'm not really looking to follow that trend on youtube where you just take something like Asgore's Theme from Undertale and just just make a metal version out of it. I'm more of a... "The soundtrack of Ocarina of Time, but it's a prog rock concept album" kind of guy, you know? A lot of video game soundtracks aren't bucketed into one specific genre and I like that kind of flexibility. That being said, I'll do metal if it feels appropriate, like a song is just heavy in all the right ways but other people don't see it yet. So yeah, any instrument is welcome, I'd like to use these songs to explore our creative reinterpretations and have fun. Reply if you're interested so we can stay in touch and maybe get something going. The dream would be to write cool original material of our own based on our shared interests in music. :)
